- Make sure any person or persons, especially your close friends and family, know who you are, what you want, what you're really good at, what you're passionate about, and what you're doing to achieve it.
- Surround yourself with people who are happy, stable, positive, have similiar tastes and passions as you, and have either found success or seem to be heading towards it.
- Join groups, read blogs, network at events, volunteer for a cause you know and care about, make connections = Opportunities will flow to you as abundently as fish swim in the ocean.
You could have many things wrong with you (or maybe nothing at all (: , made mistakes, created problems, and even at times be unruly and difficult to deal with, but if you can show and make known even one really valueable skill, gift, talent, and/or passion; most people will be willing to look past any and all of your issues, mistakes, disagreements, and complications because they can't help but focus on the value and opportunity they see or saw in you.
Communicate the positive skills, gifts, and value you have to offer the world.
"We can only be offered opportunity by those who have seen opportunity in us."
After all, "opportunity" is just a sub-category of "Communication."
You gain and learn of opportunities from a conversation (communication).
Whether via Email, Phone-Call, Text message, Fax, Walk-In, Word of Mouth, Craigslist, Websites, Chat Room, Referral, Radio, Loud Speaker, Teleprompter..
you get my vibe..
This goes for everything as well especially business and sales, if you don't communicate then you end up confusing, shunning, annoying, and/or repulsing people, especially if you say you're going to do one thing and then do something of a different nature. I would say as a 30 year resident of this planet that that actually could be one of the worst things you could do, for yourself and to others. People can't help but define you by what you tell them PARALLEL with your actions.
Realistically, you could judge and potentially even define a person by their common habit and actions. (Which can be a wonderful thing or a really crappy thing)
Luckily, especially in American society, we have a wonderful thing called forgiveness and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and with family especially, infinite chances and opportunities, to make things better, let it be.. Or technically, make it worse.
